Spinning
Spinning is the process of twisting short fibres such as cotton or wool together to create a strong, continuous thread. In hand spinning, the weaver uses a spindle or charkha to manually adjust the degree of twist and number of twists in the fibres to spin out a unique individual thread. In contrast, in machine spinning, an automatic spinning machine stretches the fibres quickly and evenly, producing a large amount of stable yarn. By using these methods according to the material and purpose, a wide variety of textures and functionality can be created, such as the thickness, degree of twist, luster and softness of the thread.
