Job Opening, Production Partners
08/02,2026
The clothes of MITTAN, based in Kyoto, are made by factories and craftspeople in Japan. We are now looking for people to support that process from outside.
A single garment passes through many stages before it is finished: the cloth is woven, cut, sewn, dyed and pressed. Among these, we are looking for people to take on part of the sewing, the finishing press, and the work that runs from inspection through to finishing.
Positions
– Home-based sewing
– Finishing press work
– Staff for our partner factory in Fukui
Home-based sewing covers simple machine sewing, such as attaching care labels and sewing offcuts. Finishing press work is the finishing press of our products, entrusted to a workshop. Both are commissioned by MITTAN. As we need to hand over and check the goods, these are open to those we can meet in person.
Staff for our partner factory in Fukui handle the inspection, finishing, pressing and correction of garments, including MITTAN products. This position is employed directly by the partner factory, not by MITTAN (Thread Routes LLC). Enquiries are received by MITTAN and passed on to the factory.

For clothes to be worn for a long time, the making needs both its stages and the hands that support them. We look forward to hearing from those who will take part in that work for the long term.
