Washing wool and animal hair products
First of all, products with a particularly high wool/beast hair blend (e.g. 100% wool, 100% cashmere) do not require frequent washing, as long as partial washing is carried out if there are noticeable stains and daily brushing is carried out.As far as possible, reducing the frequency of washing and treating the garment with care on a daily basis will ensure that the soft texture can be enjoyed for many years to come.
If you choose to wash the garment at home without calling a dry cleaner, please follow the instructions below. In doing so, please pay particular attention to high-temperature water, friction and alkaline detergents, as each of these can cause the fibres to shrink.
Washing method
1. dissolve a neutral wool detergent in a basin of lukewarm water (approx. 30°C).Test for colour fading in an inconspicuous area before use.Turn the product inside out and gently hand-press wash. Please note that firmer washing, especially of wool, may cause shrinkage of the product.
2. dehydrate the garment in the washing machine.Dehydrate within 1 minute, preferably on a soft course, and always use a laundry net. 3.
3. rinse with lukewarm water and dehydrate to remove any detergent residue.Repeat once or twice. 4.
4. remove the garment immediately after dehydration, shape it so that it stretches in the direction of shrinkage and dry it in a well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. For jumpers and other items that easily lose their shape, we recommend drying them flat. 5.
After drying, shape the garment using a steam iron or similar.
When using a washing machine, place each item in a net, set the water volume to a high level and wash and dehydrate for a very short time. Please be careful not to get detergent directly onto the product. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the product is suitable for the hand wash course of all washing machines.
